RAISING THE LITTLE BARR'S

Christmas Wish Lanterns to Heaven {2013}

CharleneComment
Remember last year's Christmas Wish Lantern video? 2012 was our first Christmas without Aunt Kathy so I decided to order a set of wish lanterns for the family to send up. It turned out amazing and we decided to try and do it every year we can.

There was no question this year when we knew we would all {thankfully} be able to spend Christmas together that we would surely be decorating those wish lanterns and sending them off to heaven for those we have lost.

This is such a wonderful way to remember our loved ones and feel as though we have some sort of connection with them, especially on holidays when we know they are 'supposed' to be there with us celebrating.

My cousin Tommy put this video together to capture this year's memorial and that song? Well, it got me! This was the same song we used on our wedding website, so it fully brings me back to that wonderful day. While Aunt Kathy may have passed away while E was still in my belly, I am beyond thankful for the fact that she was able to be there for us on our wedding day, especially after being such a cheerleader and supporter of our relationship all throughout high school. So yes, this video means a lot.

We truly miss Aunt Kathy. And we miss her wonderful party planning and Christmas cooking days. We miss my sister Krissy just as much. Both lives taken far too soon. Sending them beautiful wish lanterns up to heaven with special messages written on them feels just right.

I'm thankful for our family -- and I'm thankful for the way we celebrate life.

R.I.P. to our beautiful loved ones. We miss you.
